Default The differences of NS and JF

Ninja Storm was a secret academy that trained people in the way of the Ninja and the top three students were to be given the Ninja Storm powers.

While Jungle Fury did have an academy too, the Order of the Claw taught Kung Fu and mastery over the animals spirits. RJ even mentions hat the Ranger powers aren't directly connected to the Order of the Claw but rather he got in touch with someone who had a link to the morphin grid.

They both featured a main villain that once once a student but again in different ways. Lothor chose the path of evil and never reformed but Jarrod despite begin a jerk was mostly under Dai Shi's influence.

Other than that they aren't too similar. If you wanna talk about seasons that have the same plot just take a look at the MMPR, Zeo, Turbo and Megaforce (though Megaforce doesn't really have anything that resembles a plot but rather "just a bunch of stuff that happens" stretched out over 40 episodes before they realize they have no idea what they're doing).

And yes they COULD not mention it but it would be cool if they did. Super Sentai always manages to homage it's past teams and effectively avoid canon issues (though to be fair, aside from Sun Vulcan, no season is set in the same universe as it's predecessor). Power Rangers should follow suit.ppl
