Why didn't Disney hire Saban?
They should have hired him to continue to run Power Rangers after the buyout.

Re: Why didn't Disney hire Saban?
Saban wasn't a production guy. And he had just sold the series. They did keep the majority of MMPR Productions for a year. But they weren't looking to buy pr in the first place. Doug and Ann came to them after they cancelled the series.

No matter how hard we try to tell him , he still thinks Saban is some kind of writer and producer.

that's because he's living in a fantasy world where he thinks Haim is just like any TV Executive Producer. |

Re: Why didn't Disney hire Saban?
a lot of other Executive Producers actively engage in the production of their show including being on set as much as possible but this wasn't the case with Haim Saban.
Doug Sloan and Ann did it with Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder even to the point of taking the drastic step of moving to New Zealand to do the work. Chip has also been in New Zealand for Dino Charge and more than likely Ninja Steel. I don't know if he went to the drastic step that Doug and Ann did of actually moving there even on a temporary basis but it wouldn't surprise me. Also these following shows aren't related to Power Rangers but Jeff Franklin of Full House and Fuller House was also actively engage in both shows' productions even to the point of regularly being on the set. Alfred Gough was also involved with Smallville he was heavily involved with it in the beginning but not to the point Doug, Ann, Chip and Jeff would've been. He was more like in the middle since he had hired other people to deal with the actual writing of the episodes. |

Re: Why didn't Disney hire Saban?
Usually the main exec producer is the showrunner in TV. But there are exceptions....Especially for Turbo part 2-WF. Jonathon was technically the producer but became Showrunner mid Turbo. Levy was Executive Producer with Saban. But he only was showrunner from MMPR to Turbo Par 1. In both cases there was another interesting wrinkle. Levy and Tzachor were both directors and not writers. Usually a showrunner has more of a writing background. But both had more influence creatively than Saban. We know Tzachor had a lot of influence. But this senario did make story editors like Sloan, Lynn, Marachand, and Bhaumik even more important
During the Disney era they had more conventional showrunners. Sloan and Kalish were both from writing backgrounds and credited as Execs. As were Eddie and Judd. The new Saban era went back to Tzachor as a director showrunner but credited as Executive this time. Now that Lynn has joined its back to Disney era style. |

Saban was a lot more involved than you guys think. Only Saban Fan and I seem to understand this.

Re: Why didn't Disney hire Saban?
Not necessarily. Opinions are fine and should be respected. But there is such a thing as an informed opinion. And in this case its mostly fact. Especially the statement of Saban not being that involved creatively.
Two biggest creative influences Saban had with this show were deciding to license Super Sentai Footage ckmbine it with American Civilian Scenes to make Power Rangers...And the fact he oversaw things a bit more in season 1, mainly reviewing scripts and stuff. But beyond that he was very much just the business guy. Saban was more of a programming guy in the Saban Entertainment era. Now he is mainly an owner or the brand. |

I can respect people's opinions and the way they interpret things. But it doesn't mean I have to say they are right.
