All the footage splices from different sources were part of MMPR's charm. As much as people like season 1 , that approach wouldn't have worked forever without the changes we got in season 2 and 3 .

keep in mind that while Saban may be cheap they shot a bunch of original footage themselves which wasn't cheap to do either.

Any ground scenes of Turban Shell was original and of course all following Season 2 episodes would've had Gorma Monsters from Dairanger (aside from revived monsters like Zedd's Halloween dimension and the Wedding Monsters since most returned monsters were generally either Zyu2 or a couple Zyuranger Dora Monsters) and any instances of a Gorma Monster would've required original footage of the Rangers (except for Nimrod and the White Ranger in 1 instance) since generally they didn't have many of the Gorma suits so in 1 scene you could have MMPR Red fighting Lipsyncher with neither one ever being seen in the same scene together since they didn't have her suit or if they did it got too damaged that they couldn't do anything to repair it but that's what led to Red throwing his Sword at her to bruise her neck so that they could at least have an excuse for why she has a bruise instead of just ignoring the mark on her cheek additionally they did shoot original zord scenes and now in the 3rd season generally all ground scenes were original until the Aquitians came and in the case of the zords it's only the Shogunzords who had original footage the first instance was when they made their debut by stomping into the park and the second instance was their battle against the Sinister Simian.

Maligore do you really want me to explain every single instance of original footage so that you can see for yourself that Saban is not as cheap as you think he is?
