Why wasn't Melody Perkins a bigger star?

She was so amazing as Astronema and Karone. She proved she could be a serious villian or be a slightly comedic Ranger. I know she had a small role in Coyote Ugly but I am baffled why she didn't do more in holywood. She had star written all over her.

Hollywood is hard to predict. Its also very competitive. Few get as far as Melody ever did. We have had a few good journeyman or woman actors...But its not like PR has produced A list stars. But there is nothing wrong with that.

Not putting Melody down but a lot of what Astronema/Karone fans liked about her came from the writing more then the performance.

I think a lot of her appeal was the fact she was the first real serious villain that wasn't reduced to a punchline . Plus there was the tragic backstory with her abduction and her later redemption.

Hollywood is just a strange world to predict. Its not always about talent, a lot of it has to do with being in the right place at the right time...Or just having the right look for a major part.

There are so many young actors fighting for roles all the time, its rough.

Most likely an Erin Cahill level star. But thats a pretty nice carreer.
