nope she quit (well not quit but she wanted to leave) the show simply because the work was just too much for her and she wasn't happy with the pay she was getting for the work she had to put in so she was just basically the 3rd season version of Zack, Trini and Jason they just didn't have the time to send Aisha to the Peace Conference so they left her to rot in Africa with the plague instead.

I'm sure she did miss A.J. but no one would make a decision on their career just because of them missing an actress who left of her own free will.

But it is a stretch just to assume they were friends because of their characters. We don't know what really went on behind the scenes. Even if they were friends, it wouldn't prevent either of them fron leaving when they did. Working on Power Rangers is a business not a larp.
