Tonight Show
Hello.
Obviously as you all know, Jimmy Fallon has been the Host of The Tonight Show for 14 episodes, ever since taking over for Jay Leno following Leno's retirement however there's been an interesting development regarding the show that came out today... or rather yesterday for people in the Eastern Time Zone. The media recently revealed that guests on The Tonight Show cannot be on the show unless they have agreed that they won't appear on other networks. It's a move the Producers decided to do so I was curious what all of you thought of this move. |

Re: Tonight Show
Yeah I think this won't this will last very long.
I can see a lot of people not going on because of this. |

Re: Tonight Show
It's interesting to say the least since they've been getting some big names so it doesn't seem to be affecting them all that much... in fact here's a list.
Previous episodes will be marked with just the episode number that it is. Upcoming ones will be marked as an upcoming one with the date and episode number.

Re: Tonight Show
I see I just don't think you can just say "you can't go on our show if you go on any others" when there's a whole bunch of other shows, and not expect some negative consequences.

Re: Tonight Show
Very true but I did do a little searching on this and it looks as if it's not as if "if you go on our show, you're not allowed on any other networks." Seems like it's just an exclusive period for NBC for just a few months (apparently it's 3) according to some executives at their competitors.

Re: Tonight Show
Yup, it does create some problems though... like as an example, in the case of Kristen Bell appearing tonight on the show at 11:35 Eastern Time. She can only promote her new Veronica Mars on NBC shows, she won't be able to go on other networks like CBS or ABC in order to promote it (since it's out this month) but she would be able to appear on other NBC shows such as Today or Late Night with Seth Myers.

Re: Tonight Show
Indeed that's what I was worried about.
That and in the opposite situation Kristen Stewart could appear on all the other talk shows, then Veronica Mars could make a crapload of money at the box office. |

Re: Tonight Show
how is that the opposite situation? Kristen Bell and Kristen Stewart are 2 different people.
