What if Ryan Steele was the Gold Ranger?

Ever since I found out that Brad Hawkins was the voice of Trey like a lot of people I was hoping that it meant there were plans for a VR Troopers crossover with Power Rangers.

Now the real reason I hear they did it was because something about the triplets who played Trey not being able to act or speak English, and Brad Hawkins was just brought in to be a filler voice.

But I still remember for the longest time thinking of ways they could have made Ryan Steele the Gold Ranger.

Like for instance the idea I always go back to is an idea where the Troopers find another relic like the box of Isis, and it turns out to be a piece of Eltarian technology.

Then both Grimlord, and the Machine Empire find out about it so they try to get their hands on it, and this leads to the Rangers, and the Troopers having to join forces to fight them both.

It would ultimately end with the Troopers having to sacrifice their powers to destroy Grimlord, and the Machine Empire but only destroying Grimlord but Zordon and the Rangers would use the Eltarian relic to create the Gold Ranger powers,

I really like that idea. If Jason didn't come back, that would have been the route to take. Maybe the Troopers could have been from an Au and crossed over. With Ryan staying behind to help the Zeo team.

It could have worked especially early on. It wouldn't have been a stretch to have the same continuity in the early years of PR.

Good Ranger wouldn't be the same without Jason. Unless Ryan passed his powers to Jason instead of Trey?

I wonder why they even wasted time with Trey and just didn't have Jason be Gold from the beginning?

I believe the problem wasn't the fact of whether they spoke English or not since they did the problem was that the people in charge didn't like how they were sounding for Trey since I think the actors had one of those country accents.

I don't think they even knew what they wanted to do with the character so keeping him as a voice-over was a way to get around that until they had figured out a plan.

They seemed to want to keep Gold' s identity a secret. I don't think Jason would have hid from the Zeo Rangers for so long. It had to be someone new.
