Not true. Them splicing Thunder Megazord footage then editing in a villain shot was just done with Zyu2 monsters and some scenes against Rito.

If Tommy would remain the Green Ranger, the writers AND the producers would have had to go trough a WHOLE LOT of problems, since Austin, Walter and Thuy were slowly leaving the show, so we would've been stuck with a morphed, fake-voiced versions of Jason, Trini and Zack until the end of S02, since there would be no character in the show to take the place of the leader of the Power Rangers. The Power Transfer would probably happen at the end of S02/start of S03, or whenever Saban would decide to drop the three fake Rangers and give us new actors for Jason, Trini and Zack (basically what he should've done in the first place and introduce Rocky, Adam and Aisha the next season). So let's be all glad that JDF came back to continue playing Tommy, who became the new White Ranger AND the leader of the power team. Power Rangers was almost screwed when the three decided to leave. In the end, if you think about it - Tommy actually ended up saving the show.

it would still be the same but one of the veterans would get promoted to leader once Zack, Trini and Jason were replaced they weren't going to keep those characters as nothing more than archives, stand-ins and other people doing voice-overs.
