Something like that. At least according to the intentions of some of the behind the scenes personal. It is most likely the reason why he could use the powers when no one else could.

You know the Thunder Rangers and Titanium have similar entrances. Both blindly follow the villains for revenge based on falso information. Of course with Ryan it was more understandable ...Since he was raised by the demons and should have been more emotionally broken than he even was on the show.
