Default Why did the Overlord's treat Dai Shi like a student?

Its seemed odd to me that Dai Shi was the big bad but the Overlords treated him like he was a student. As if he was Jarrod himself rather than Dai Shi. The whole season had Dai Shi train to become stronger.

They seemed to be inconsistant with Dai Shi at times. Sometimes they treated him like he was posssessed and other times like he turned to the dark side himself.

I never bought Jarrod's redemption. The guy was a punk. And really seemed to like being Dai Shi. He was chosen because of these reasons. Jarrod is also responsible for Mao's death.

Maybe he was full of Dai Shi's evil and named himself after him. When he started getting second thoughts the real Dai Shi started exerting more control over him.

Having Dai Shi turn good seemed like a very Disney thing to do.

They just didn't like humans very much. When Dai Shi possessed a human they were turned offed by Jarrod's humanity.

This is what drove me crazy about Dai Shi. They were so inconsistant. Its like they had two different ideas on how to use him and did both.

Jarrod was more in control early on. Once Jarrod fell in love with Camille and started to show his better side....Dai Shi exerted more control.

Jarrod was a crybaby who got his teacher killed and released Dai Shi. It was a joke they tried and act lile he was a misinderstood guy. Even if Dai Shi was in full control, Jarrod was still responsible for the above.

The Overlords saw Jarrod's humanity holding Dai Shi back. So they attempted to mentor him to "overcome' it. Grizzaka of course just lost all faith in Dai Shi in human form.
