After watching the prequels and seeing all Palpetine manipulated Anakin made me wonder just how he thought Luke was going to do the same thing. Since Anakin was manipulated by the sith lord for more than a decade and Luke only just meant him in Jedi.

But I have come to realize that Luke killing Vader would have just been the beginning of his greater fall. Palpetine probably figured that killing his own father and seeing all his friends destroyed would make it impossible for Luke to go back to the good side. It would break hi. enough where he might just end up serving the Sith because he has no one else.
