Karen Ashley leaving the series?
 

The way they wrote off Aisha seemed pretty abrupt . Does anyone know why Karen didn't return for the final MMPR episode or why she left the series proper!?

I think they should have had her have a goodbye scene.

She realized how bad the schedule and her pay was for what she had to do on the show so she wanted to leave she was promised a decent write off for her character but the Producers never had any time to insert it in.

Thats interesting, I always thought it was strange how they wrote her off. Ashley wasn't even in the characters final scenes. Unless you count the viewing globe scene?

Disney would have made sure to give her a better send off. But I don't think would have let her go without offering her a raise.

Anyone remember when And Karen Ashley was on Hanging With Mr. Cooper? It was either while she was on Power Rangers or a short time after?

Yes it was a very sad episode. It made me want to cry in the end.

Saban felt it was best to replace her with Tanya for new fans. And figured it was better to write her off quickly. Since there was too much going on.in season 3. And they already gave the cast a vacation in the end. Why have Karen come back for one episode?

It seemed like Rangers were always leaving back then. Its no wondee they switched to seasonal casts a few years later.

Tanya should have replaced Tommy. Billy could have become Red Ranger.

Adam was next in line to be Red though. And really should have been Red anyway.

It was sad to see Karen and her portrayal of Aisha go. But Nakia Burrise did a great job as Tanya.

fun doesn't pay the bills and their non-union pay was basically on par with the salary that McDonald's pays out to its employees.

I hope they didn't pay her less because she was a Yellow Ranger. They can be underrated sometimes.

I wonder if she would be willing to return to the series ? Just as a guest star type of thing, I know coming back as a regular wouldn't happen.

Why would anyone want to act on Power Rangers any longer than they have to. I mean you must be pretty desparate to take an acting job like that. If you can call it acting lol.

Karan Ashley isn't a well known or professional actor it wasn't something she was interested in pursuing.

The last film she did before last year was a project called "Devon's Ghost: Legend of the Bloody Boy" and the last TV appearance she had well let's go with the last few appearances since she was in an episode of One and One, an episode of The Parkers and she was in 2 episodes of The Steve Harvey Show.

Most actors from Mighty Mighty Morphin Power Rangers couldn't get any work due to typecasting in fact Amy Jo Johnson was the only one out of the original group of 5 who had any real success in the acting department.

that she does.

nope she quit (well not quit but she wanted to leave) the show simply because the work was just too much for her and she wasn't happy with the pay she was getting for the work she had to put in so she was just basically the 3rd season version of Zack, Trini and Jason they just didn't have the time to send Aisha to the Peace Conference so they left her to rot in Africa with the plague instead.

The main difference being she quit and didn't walk out. The original three were fired.

all of them would've been missing A.J. and she (Karan) was still technically "the new girl" until Catherine became a Ranger

Karen Ashley waw a professional actress that left for business reasons. How can we say she missed AJJ? We don't even knoe if they were actually friends?

I'm sure she did miss A.J. but no one would make a decision on their career just because of them missing an actress who left of her own free will.

But it is a stretch just to assume they were friends because of their characters. We don't know what really went on behind the scenes. Even if they were friends, it wouldn't prevent either of them fron leaving when they did. Working on Power Rangers is a business not a larp.
