Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Was it already part of history for them to go back in time?
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Yes, the original timeline had similar events but all the Ranger died.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
I think history was changed just not enough to cause the time holes to destroy everything.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Time Force was so confusing! I couldn't understand all the time travel logic.

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Thats why Time Force helped the Rangers after they hijacked the time ship. Alex knew they were supposed to go back. Logan didn't know right away. And also didn't know Alex was secretly his boss until after Time Shadow was revealed.

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Time Force higher ups knew this had to happen. Alex was part of a secret group running Time Force but posed as a lower ranked member. The healing dealing device was only known by this group. This is why Jen thought Alex was dead. Alex made sure Jen's teM guarded Ransik because he. knew that they were destined to go back in time. Part of him hoped this wouldn't happen. This is why he proposed to Jen. Once it happened Alex worked out a way for the team to escape without changing history.

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
They should have kept the Sentai plot of Alex trying to preserve history to save himself. It woukd have made far more sense. Also Alex should have been the Time Force Captain from the beginning.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
At least Time Force did adapt Timeranger very closely. It could have been better. But American Sentai was much more true to the Sentai than it ever had been up till that point. And set the tone for some Sentai heavy seasons later on.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Time Force is at its best when it is doing its own thing. Adapting Time Ranger was fine when it made sense with the story they did tell. The show fell into the bad habit of blindling adopting Sentai and got in the way of the excellent arch the first ten episldes started.
I think Alex was saved by the alterations in the Timeline not the magic device. This also changed him to having a higher rank to Logan. It also made him colder but still had feelings for Jen deep down. I believe the Time Force team was always meant to go back in time. Things did deviate in terms of events. As Alex himself pointed out that history was shifting. Plus we saw the time changes. Originally the Rangers died stopping Frax with Eric saving the day with Quantum Ranger. Biotech Industries figured out a way to copy the TF morphers to defeat Ransik and lead to SPD. Once Eric got injured protecting Wes and Collins, history changed. The Rangers survived and Wes used the Quantum Controller to stop Frax. Also in the final battle Ransik decided to end the cycle of hate and turn himself in . Biolqbs steal reversed engineered the morphers to help create SPD. |
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Saban Entertainment should have used Timeranger to make an MMPR like season instead of all the time travel crap. "Movie Madness" and "Nadiera's Dream Date" show this case would have been good in that. Too bad they went with all the serious crap.

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Time Force had a second half that was much more true to Timeranger. But I feel too much damage was done in the first 10 episodes to the story and characters...For it to be anything but a medicore adaption of American Sentai. Wild Force was much better.

We disagree Matt. We think American Sentai should be as close to Sentai as possible.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Why does Power Rangers have to be exactly like Sentai? Even the most Sentai heavy seasons have differences. It would be boring if all PR seasons were sentai verbatim. You guys have unrealistic demands and might be better off just watching Sentai if you hate PR that much.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
You can call it American Sentai all you want, but its still Power Rangers. Don't know why that's all of the sudden a dirty word for you guys. No one is saying you can't like Sentai. But saying PR can't be PR is a bit much.

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
"Everyone makes your own destiny". This was the theme of the season. The events of Time Force were not preordained. They were the result of choices. Alex could only moniter how the future turned out after the Rangers went back in time. And even he couldn't account for the chance the Rangers had to change the future yet again.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Except "End of Time" negates all the free will stuff. History can't be greatly changed or time holes will destroy everything. Jen and Wes love each other yet can't choose to be together. And the rest of the Rangers have no choice but to return to the future whether.they want to or not. It totally flys in the face of the idea that you can make your own destiny. Which as you have said is supposed to be the theme of the season. This is all especially odd since Eric and Wes keep their morphers. So they can't even be consistant with contradicting there own overplot.

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Some version of the Time Force team probably went to the past. I think things may have originally gone differently. The future was very much in flux during Time Force. There are so many different possibilities to how things could have ended up. That happens with time travel.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
There was no destiny in Time Force. Only chance and choices that influenced all the events. The events of Time Force changed the future in ways we haven't seen. We do see the changes it made in Alex. The Timeholes had more to do with the Tryzarium Crystal Paradox. Which was more to do with two zords using them at once. As once Frax's crystal was disabled, the timeholes stopped.

That would have been good though. Alex would have just been bad like the Captain. And it would have been a very mature storyline to bring over for American Sentai. And much better than the Alex storyline which never had a satisfying conclusion.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
it's not an American Sentai. Power Rangers is its own show it's not an American Sentai and censors would've NEVER EVER allowed anyone like Ryuuga on a kids show.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
What Snob said is what I was getting at . If you have to dumb down Alex from Ryuuga to appease censors than so be It. It would still be better than what we got.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
You could do Alex as a toned down version of Ryuuga. There is no such thing as American Sentai. American Toku is the genre. Which Power Rangers has handily dominated for decades.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Exactly! Power Rangers and Sentai are both great in their own rights. There is room for both in our hearts.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
exactly. You can like both Sentai and Power Rangers. There's no need to make Power Rangers an American Sentai and calling it an American Sentai is an insult to the Power Rangers series since that's your way of saying you don't like Power Rangers and as most people say if you don't like something then don't watch it.
You already have the original Sentai to watch so just watch that instead if you hate Power Rangers that much. It makes zero sense to make it EXACTLY the same as something that already exists and anyone can watch. |
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Any claim of "Power Rangers" being its own thing was rendered moot after In Space. And American Sentai really started to greatly move away from that after MMPR. The Sentai Snobs have all agreed to refer to only American Sentai. And to encourage others to do the same. I hope Sentai Master and perhaps even American Sentai Snob can join us eventually.
I think its lame that they felt they couldn't do a straight foward adaption of the captian. It just proves how superior Super Sentai is to American Sentai. |
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
I agree Sentai Master and "Power Rangers" Snob should get in uniform and join us. They have to know deep down that Super Sentai is hands down the better product.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
I find the notion that Time Force to not be enough like Timeranger is ridiculous. Since they copied it so heavily it was a detriment to most of the original things they added in. Not to mention most of the season.

Power Rangers tends to be at its best when it is differemt from the Sentai.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
I'll never be a Sentai Snob. I love both.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
The notion thar there has to be a Super Sentai or Power Rangers only mentality sounds silly to me.
|
Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
I don't think so. I think everything started when they had to follow Ransik to the past. Alex could only follow the events once the Rangers went to the past. This is why there was so much concern to changing history. Every moment the Rangers and Ransik were in the last changed the future.
