Summer's Butler

I don't think it was right that they had him die. It was too sad. And most of all..To graphic for a kids show.

Re: Summer's Butler

It would have been a cop out to have him live. Not everyone could have escaped Venjix. Really we should have saw more death in RPM.

Re: Summer's Butler

Maybe he was a really a hybrid and just was waiting for Venjix to wake him back up.

Re: Summer's Butler

Or he actually died like most people would who jut got blasted by a killer robot.

They kill people off on Power Rangers now? Thats strange?

Re: Summer's Butler

Sadly they do in some of the dark series, that they foolishly made.

Re: Summer's Butler

Its very rare that anyone gets killed off. They probably only got away with it in this case since the show was basically on its way to bekng cancelled.

Did that evil witch with the funny hat ever get killed off?

Green With Envy 10/30/16 11:37 PM

Re: Summer's Butler

No, she was purified in Space. Years later she served as Mystic Mother

Captain Mutiny 10/30/16 11:39 PM

Re: Summer's Butler

The butler dying was the main catalyst for Summer's growth from spoiled rich girl to the confident young woman we see in RPM. I think the death was handled as well as it could have been.

Lets not forget that Marcus died too. So it was hardly the only death.

Re: Summer's Butler

I hated how so many people died in RPM. It just wasn't right. Only Gem and Gemma felt like characters that should be in PR. RPM wasn't PR and was too much like Sentai. The worst kind of sentai, super dark. Summer's butler's death was terrible. So was the death of Marcus.

Re: Summer's Butler

I liked that there was real stakes and consequences. Its what was whqt made RPM good. Particularly in the first half.

Re: Summer's Butler

Too bad they started to ruin it in the second half after they introduced Gem and Gemma. When all of the sudden everyone lived happier ever after.

Re: Summer's Butler

its a shame we didn't get "Ranger Black" to really bring the season to a riveting close.

I figured Summer's butler was going to die when he wasn't around in the present.

Superstatler 11/01/16 09:03 PM

Re: Summer's Butler

That was the main point of the episode. The butler dying made Summer strive to be the best she could be.

Massive Ego 11/02/16 11:30 AM

Re: Summer's Butler

I don't get why people have such a hard time understanding that. People die on TV. Its not like they really died in real life.

very rarely but it happens.

remember Zordon was killed back in Space and he's still dead.
Kendrix was killed in Galaxy but she was brought back to life.
Alex was killed in Time Force but he was brought back to life.

Master Org was killed in Wild Force despite having a human appearance for most of the season.

Lothor was killed at least twice and he has a human appearance.

Moltor and Flurious were originally humans and they were both killed.

RPM = Summer's Butler was killed and so was Scott's brother; Marcus.

Samurai = Jayden and Lauren's Dad was killed. Dayu and Deker were originally humans and they were both killed.

I don't know most of those names. I haven't seen the show since it first started. I vaguely remember Zordon. He was the big bald head guy right? Crazy they killed him off amd not that witch lady.

yup that he was technically it was the ultimate sacrifice it's a pretty sad scene since he orders the current Red Ranger to kill himself (him as in Zordon) because shattering the tube he was in would've unleashed a huge energy pool that would've destroyed most of the villains but the ones who were human were purified.

Proof that death on Power Rangers can be handlee right

Death has no place in Power Rangers.

Re: Summer's Butler

Sure it does when it makes sense. The butler's death set the tone for Summer 's character arch.
