Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Grimlord's House of Fear written by Margo McCahon and directed by Robert Hughes.

So we start off with today’s “My dad taught me” moment where Ryan talks about how his dad taught him that with training, and teamwork you can be ready for the unexpected.

We then go to a stereotypical looking suburb where the Troopers are looking around a supposedly haunted house but don't see anything.

After a cat scare the Troopers meet a young boy named Manuel who told Kaitlin about the house, and wants to take a picture to prove its haunted but the Troopers are still not convinced.

Meanwhile at Ziktor industries one of Ziktor's secretaries informs him that the Troopers are snooping around the house so he tells her to stop them before they ruin his plan.

Then he transforms into Grimlord, and summons Ivar, and Icebot who both explain that they created a device called the cyber beam that will open a hole in the reality barrier at the old house, and that they have a new mutant protecting it.

Then at the Underground Voice Daily Kaitlin is showing Woody her story, and pointing out various weird occurrences around the house but he isn't convinced unless Kaitlin can show a photo of the ghost, and Percy rubs it in but gets instant karma when the vacuum cleaner he's using malfunctions, and he starts accidentally blowing objects, and people with it.

While at the virtual dungeon Grimlord summons Icebot who's running a test with the cyber beam to some the new mutant Vacbot by assembling it from various items in the house but it uses more power than expected, and the experiment is a failure.

Then at the house Manuel takes a picture of Icebot's experiment, and calls Kaitlin thinking it's the ghost, and she decides to go to the house herself while Manuel finds out that his picture didn't come out right so he decides to go back for a better picture.

Kaitlin goes to the house, and sees a real estate agent holding a sign but when Kaitlin talks to her the Real estate agent turns into an army of Skugs.

Kaitlin kicks a Skug so another tries to hit her with the real estate sign but Kaitlin dodges it, takes it, and hit the Skugs with it while still kicking them.

Then she gets rid of the sign, and just punches, and kicks them, and kicks all the Skugs into each other disintegrating them.

Then Kaitlin runs into Manuel while Icebot performs one final cyber beam experiment, and it works, and Vacbot is successfully activated.

Manuel takes a picture thinking it's the ghost but when the photo comes out they see it's a mutant so Kaitlin has Manuel go to the Underground Voice Daily while she goes to Tao dojo.

At Tao dojo Ryan, and JB are sparing with Tao who beats both of them then Kaitlin shows up, and explains she needs Ryan, and JB's help, and as soon as Tao leaves Kaitlin explains what's happening so they go to the lab.

At the lab the Troopers explain what happened, and the Professor has the Troopers put on visors, and shows them some Spielban footage, and explains that thanks to Icebot's cyber beam he can create virtual constructs including mutants from our side of the reality barrier who can make holes in the reality barrier for the rest of Grimlord's mutants to break in so the Troopers transform.

Ryan goes into the Skybase while JB, and Kaitlin go into the house, and JB punches Vacbot but Vacbot punches him so Kaitlin grabs Vacbot so JB can beat him up but Vacbot throws Kaitlin off so JB pulls out his ray gun but Vacbot shoots a freezing most at him.

Then they end up back outside for no reason, and even JB lampshades it, and Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters appear so JB takes the fight to virtual reality.

Ivar, and his tanks appear, and along with the air force , and they all fire at JB, and Kaitlin so Kaitlin summons the Battle Cruiser, and destroys Ivar's tanks.

Ryan chases after Ivar's Air Castle (the turtle like spaceship from Save the Trees) because that's where Icebot's lab is but Icebot evades him by hiding in a lake.

Vacbot then jumps at JB, and hits him with his vacuum cleaner arm so JB hits Vacbot with his sword but Vacbot sucks it with his vacuum arm.

Kaitlin rams Ivar's tank off a cliff while Ryan finds the Air Castle, and drops bombs on it so it tries to get away but Ryan fires missiles at it, and crashes down.

Vacbot fires a red laser at JB, and then freezes JB with his most but JB uses supercharge, and breaks out of the ice, and destroys Vacbot with Laser Lance, and Grimlord shames Icebot for failure.

Later at the Underground Voice Daily Manuel shows up while Percy's cleaning, and goes up to Woody, and the Troopers, and he talks about working for the paper someday, and taking a picture of the Troopers in , and Percy complains which leads to one last comedy bit where Jeb pushes a mop bucket on him.

Anyway "I miss you dad" the end.

Final Thoughts

Today's episode was pretty good.

I liked the idea of Grimlord, and his mutants being able to create mutants from our side of the reality barrier that can weaken it enough to let other mutants in.

I also liked the idea of everyone initially thinking the house was haunted, and I thought Manuel was a pretty cool character.

I'm not sure what I think of Vacbot since he's like the opposite of Pollenbot in that I don't really like the idea so much of a monster based on random household items but somehow he has pretty cool design.

I also liked how they actually acknowledged the villain base from Spielban, and explained it as Grimlord's main spaceship.

And I liked how they explained that that's where Icebot's laboratory is as a way to explain why the Spielban villains are never in the same place as the Metalder ones without editing.

Though I'm a bit confused since all the previous episodes implied that the Spielban villains where just in a different part of the virtual dungeon unless the idea is he has different labs in both the Air Castle, and virtual dungeon.

I also liked how they didn't take out anything from the Spielban episode, and in fact I think they added stuff as well.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Three Strikes written by Mark Litton, and directed by Robert Hughes.

So we start off with today’s “My dad taught me” moment where Ryan talks about how his dad told him that there are two forces that enhance our senses cooperation, and competition.

We then go to baseball field where a bunch of little kids are playing baseball, and JB is their coach, and their best player is a little boy named Shawn Matsumoto but they're in danger of losing their field so they're having a benefit game to save it.

When Ryan asks what kind of person would take a baseball field from little kids we immediately learn the answer by going to Ziktor industries where Ziktor explains he wants to tear down the field, and build another power plant.

Then he transforms into Grimlord, and orders his minions to abduct Shawn so he can't play in the benefit game.

Then at the Underground Voice Daily we get a comedy bit where Woody acts like a vendor, and throws snacks around then JB comes in with Sean who thanks Woody, and the paper for sponsoring the game.

We then we get another comedy bit where Percy tries to show off his batting skills, and Jen trips him with a baseball, and everyone else goes back to talking to Sean about the game.

Then we go back to the baseball field where JB, and his team are practicing, and JB psyches his team up then a bunch of teenagers show up to play baseball, and the Troopers ask what their favorite thing about it is.

The teenagers say stealing, and when the Troopers ask what they mean they say kids but since this is a children's superhero show, and not Law, and Order the teenagers are just Skugs.

Kaitlin has the kids evacuate while Ryan, and JB kick the Skugs then Kaitlin shows up to help by punching them while a Skug tries to kidnap Sean but he gets away.

Then a Skug tries to kick Ryan but he grabs it,throws it, punches, and kicks it, and throws it again while JB kicks some more Skugs while Kaitlin punches, kicks, and throws some other Skugs, and pushes them into each other while Ryan, and JB kick the last two into each other destroying the Skugs.

Kaitlin wonders where Sean is, and he's okay while at the virtual dungeon Grimlord summons Icebot who explains that he's repaired Metalbot.

At the lab the Troopers wonder what Grimlord wants with Sean, and the Professor just says they should keep an eye on him just to be sure so they take turns staking out Sean's house.

Then Kaitlin wishes there was a way they can stay in touch, and the Professor makes these game boy looking devices appear with the lab's machines one is half red, half blue for Ryan, another is half red half silver for JB, and the other half red half white for Kaitlin.

Later that night we see Kaitlin sitting outside Shawn's apartment building while in virtual reality Metalbot, Chrome Dome, Minotaurbot, and an unnamed red, and silver robot who will later be called Renegade search for a reality break while Shawn sleeps, and the Troopers take shifts watching the building.

The next day Ryan is still sitting outside Shawn's building when Grimlord's mutants appear in the real world, and kidnap Shawn.

So Ryan transforms to rescue Shawn from Chrome Dome but is ambushed by Minotaurbot but Ryan makes quick work of him but the other mutants get away so Ryan summons the Turbo Cycle to chase after the but Air Striker, and Fighterbot appear to attack, and Ryan looses them, and at the virtual dungeon Zelton informs Grimlord that they captured Shawn.

At the Underground Voice Daily Kaitlin, Woody, Percy, and everyone else is looking for anything that can help find Shawn then Kaitlin gets a call from JB telling her to meet him at the lab.

At the lab Ryan tells JB, and Kaitlin that they found Shawn so they put on their visors, and see Shawn being held hostage by Grimlord's mutants so they all transform.

The Troopers all go into the Skybase to rescue Shawn but Grimlord has Ivar send Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters to attack them but the Troopers destroy them.

While at the lab the Professor, and Jen tell the Troopers where Shawn's location so Ryan jumps out of the Skybase while the others stay in the Skybase.

After some dramatic tension Ryan appears but Metalbot just starts punches him repeatedly so JB jumps down, and helps by shooting lasers at Chrome Dome but Shawn gets knocked loose, and almost falls off a cliff so Ryan, and JB try to rescue him.

But Metalbot appears, and punches Ryan but he dodges, and punches, and kicks Metalbot who then makes spikes come out of his hands, and tries to punch Ryan some more but Ryan dodges, and lands his own attacks.

So Metalbot fires his spikes but Ryan hits them away but they explode but Ryan dodges, and attacks Metalbot who fires electrical beams.

But Ryan dodges, and uses Lighting Hand so Metalbot makes a tentacle come out of his chest and shoots Ryan who Lighting Hands Metalbot anyway, and kicks Metalbot destroying him.

Ryan, and the others rescue Shawn, and Grimlord once again swears vengeance on the Troopers.

Later at the baseball game it's the bottom of the ninth, and JB, and Shawn's team needs a home run to win but they've already raised enough money to save the baseball field, and Shawn hits a home run.

Anyway "I miss you dad" the end.

Final Thoughts

Today's episode was one of those weird okay episodes that wasn't all that bad but not all that great.

The story was all right but it reminded me of a lot of earlier episodes.

I liked the fight with Metalbot but it reminded me of why I wished either Metalder would have used a monster that wasn't already used in an episode for the one this episode was based on.

Or they just took the Metalder episode this was based on, and the one Kaitlin's Front Page was based on, and just made an episode from that.

I did like how they got an actual Japanese American boy to play Shawn, and had American actors wear American made prop hands so they could integrate footage of the civilian boy from the Metalder episode into this one.

Come to think of it I probably would like to see that more often in this show.

I also liked how they didn't skip anything from the Metalder episode other than the stuff with Top Gunder.

And how they also tried to edit it so JB could be with Ryan during the fight scene.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Danger in the Deep written by Adam Gilad, and directed by Robert Hughes.

So we start off with today’s “My dad taught me” moment where Ryan talks about how his dad told him that the strongest mind will always surpass the strongest body.

Then we go to a lake where the Troopers are once again riding around on jet skis, and when they are done Ryan says nothing could ruin the day.

And on cue we go to Ziktor industries where Ziktor explains his latest evil scheme to destroy Crossworld City dam, and flood the city so he can make his own one, then hen he transforms into Grimlord, and explains his scheme to his mutants.

Then we go back to the beach where Jeb makes a fire hydrant out of sand and Kaitlin decides to take nature shots, and sees Percy on a rowboat which leads to a comedy bit where Jeb knocks Percy off his boat

Then Kaitlin sees some strange looking men carrying boxes out of a truck but a lifeguard appears and he tells Kaitlin that the water is contaminated

So Kaitlin tells the others, and they all take a sample, and while it looks fine they head to the lab while the lifeguard talks without moving his lips and his eyes glow red.

At the lab the Troopers, and the Professor run a test on the sample of water, and it checks out as fine then they put on their visors, and scan the lake, and don't find anything except radio waves.

Then Kaitlin mentions the guys carrying crates so they all decide go back to the lake where Kaitlin look for the truck while the others will go under water in scuba gear.

At the beach Ryan, JB are checking their scuba gear when the lifeguard appears, and when JB tells him they checked the water themselves, and it's clean the lifeguard transforms into an army of Skugs.

Ryan fights off Skugs with a flipper while JB just kicks them but starts using his scuba gear as a weapon as well, and the two knock two Skugs into each other, and destroy them.

Then JB kicks one Skug while Ryan grabs, and punches, and throws another, and finally JB throws his diving goggles and knocks the last two Skugs into each other, and destroys them.

Meanwhile Kaitlin spots someone else getting out of the water but they run away into a truck bed, the truck drives off before she can find out who they are but they leave behind a piece of crate that says dyn on it.

Then Ryan, and JB have their scuba gear on, and go into the lake and they see some recycled Spielban footage from Error in the System of an underwater cave, and when go back to land Kaitlin shows up, and everyone explains to each other what happened.

While at the virtual dungeon Grimlord summons a silver mutant named Shoulderbot so named because one shoulder is a machine gun, and the other is a laser cannon as he demonstrates on some Skugs carrying cardboard cutouts of JB, and Kaitlin in Trooper mode.

At the Underground Voice Daily Ryan, and JB ask Woody for a map, and find out that the place where they found the underwater cave is the most narrow area of the dam, and Kaitlin finds out that the guys in the truck where carrying dynamite.

Then the Troopers all go up to the archives, and talk to the Professor, and that's when they figure out what's going on, and go back to the dam.

At the dam the Troopers are, and split up to find the explosives, and the Professor informs them they have 15 minutes to stop the detonation, and Kaitlin runs into some Skugs, and fights them off but then encounters Shoulderbot.

While JB flies around on his fighter bike, and Ryan sees Air Fighters, and Quantum Cruisers so JB tries to lure them away.

Kaitlin jumps at Shoulderbot who just fires at her with his machine gun, and laser cannon, and then punches, and throws Kaitlin so she calls for help while Air Fighters fire on JB so Ryan looks for the explosives alone.

Kaitlin tries to hurt Shoulderbot with her ray gun but he just grabs the gun out her hands, and break it, and shoots a red laser at Kaitlin, and knocks her off the dam so JB takes the fight to virtual reality where the Air Fighters fire on them so he uses Techno Bazooka.

Ryan then finds the bomb while Shoulderbot fires his machine gun on JB so Kaitlin appears but Shoulderbot fires both of his weapons on both Troopers.

Ryan only has seconds to get rid of the bomb so he gets out of the dam, and throws the bomb, and it explodes harmlessly in the air while Shoulderbot is still firing at JB, and Kaitlin so Kaitlin fires her gun at Shoulderbot, and JB finishes him off with Laser Lance.

While at the virtual dungeon one of the mutants finally says maybe Grimlord's plan wasn't all that good but they won't say who but Grimlord ignores it, and goes back to swearing vengeance on the Troopers.

Later back at the Underground Voice Daily the Troopers are trying to convince Woody to go to the lake when Percy shows up, and pitches the story of the explosives in the dam but Kaitlin already beat him to it, and we get one more comedy bit where Jeb trips Percy.

Anyway "I miss you dad" the end.

Final Thoughts

Today's episode was another good but not great episode since I liked the idea of it but it seemed weird that it took so long for the Troopers to find out that Grimlord was up to something since it seemed like in previous episodes they figured out stuff like that fairly quick.

I liked Shoulderbot's design, and powers.

And I can't think of anything that was cut from the Spielban episode that I wish they left in, and in fact they added stuff again.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Small but Mighty written, and directed by Robert Hughes.

So we start off with today’s “My dad taught me” moment where Ryan talks about how when he was a kid he was in a hurry to grow up but now that he's a grown up he sometimes wishes he was a kid again.

Then right outside of Tao dojo Ryan, and JB are fixing up their motorcycles while Kaitlin sits on the steps, and watches, and reminds them that they all have a workout but Ryan, and JB keep fixing their motorcycles.

While at Ziktor industries Ziktor is with a Skug in the form of a delivery man who is working on a device, and needs a test subject, and despite Ziktor's protests he uses Juliet, and the device turns her into a baby lizard, and Ziktor makes him change her back.

Then he transforms into Grimlord, and explains his latest evil scheme to use the device to turn the Troopers into children so they will be powerless to stop him.

Later at Tao dojo Ryan, and JB are sparing with Tao while still in their regular clothes, and Tao beats them up, and leaves, and the delivery guy shows up with the strange device, and just as Ryan warns them it could be a trap the device turns them into children, and the delivery man turns into an army of Skugs.

The Skugs try to kick the Troopers but they grab the Skugs by the legs then Ryan grabs one so Kaitlin, and JB can punch it.

Then they flip over the Skugs, and then the Skugs try to keep the Troopers at bay when they try to fight them but the Troopers throw the Skugs into each other, and destroy them.

The Troopers then decide to go to the lab with the machine, and run into Jeb then JB tries to go on his motorcycle but Ryan, and Kaitlin remind him that they're too little now to do that so they take their bicycles but run into Percy.

At the virtual dungeon Grimlord is upset with the Skugs being defeated so he summons Ivar who recommends a brain like mutant named Crainoid to destroy the Troopers.

While Jeb distracts Percy by driving Kaitlin's car causing Percy to ride his bike into some kids' lemonade stand.

At the lab the Professor doesn't recognize the Troopers until they explain what's going on, and a reality break occurs in sector L7 (not joking).

So the Troopers ask if they can still transform and the Professor says they can but only for a few minutes, and the Troopers decide that's enough so they transform complete with a new transformation effect.

Quantum Cruisers, and tanks appear so Ryan summons the Battle Cruiser to destroy the tanks while JB destroys the Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters with Techno Bazooka.

Then Crainoid appears, and JB tries to fight him with his sword but Crainoid punches him so Kaitlin tries her sickle weapon but Crainoid goes after her so JB tries again but Crainoid just deals with him again.

Ivar appears in Ravage Tank to fight while Crainoid shoots electricity at JB, and Kaitlin fire lasers at him, and JB finishes Crainoid off with Laser Lance.

While Ryan pushes Ivar off a cliff but Ivar's jet fighter detached from his tank so Ryan chases after Ivar in his own jet fighter, and shoots down Ivar.

The Troopers go into the Skybase but more Air Fighters, and Quantum Cruisers appear, and their VR powers give out but Ryan is able to shoot down the Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters, and Grimlord once again shames his minions for failure.

At the lab the Professor tells the Troopers that he's reversed the device but first the Troopers goof off while they're still kids, and then the Professor turns them back to normal.

Anyway "I miss you dad" the end.

Final Thoughts

Today's episode was one of those weird episodes where I liked the story, and I liked the monster but I don't know if the monster they picked was right for it.

Mostly because the Spielban episode they used was a later episode that contained a lot of stuff that we won't see until season two like Gran Nazca's robot form, and Helen Lady in armor or stuff we saw in Digging for Fire, and civilians.

But at the same time they cut out like half the fight from Spielban not to mention that Helen Lady appears in armor for quite a bit of the fight in the Spielban episode which makes me think they could have just have just had a different monster.

Though I did like the story mostly because I thought it was a better "the heroes turn into kids" story than some of the ones in Power Rangers (coughAlien Rangerscough)

And I still thought Crainoid was a cool monster with his whole body being made of brains.

And with that we are 3/5s of the way into Season One.

And not only that but next week we'll look at one of my favorite episodes, and my favorite episode of Season One.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Defending Dark Heart part 1 written by Doug Sloan, and directed by John Grant Weil.

So we start off with today’s “My dad taught me” moment where Ryan talks about how you can be thinking of someone, and suddenly they'll appear.

We then go to the forest outside Crossworld City where the Troopers are getting ready to go hiking when Percy shows up, and we get a montage of the Troopers hiking while Percy sucks at it.

Then the Troopers hear some laser noises, and see some Metalder footage of Grimlord's army in our reality training or having a tournament.

We then go to Ziktor industries where Ziktor cancels his calls for the day, and brags to Juliet before transforming into Grimlord, and summoning Decimator, and they both explain that they're having a tournament to decide which mutant gets to be the next one to fight the Troopers with the odds favoring Dark Heart a black mutant with one red eye, and a large silver robotic arm who carries a rifle.

The Troopers decide there's too many mutants to fight them directly so JB scans them with his communicator so the Professor can see it but they run into three hikers who turn out to be Skugs.

Ryan and JB kick some Skugs before they both backflip onto a rock formation while Kaitlin kicks a Skug, and climbs the rock formation.

Then the Skugs jump up to where the Troopers are so Ryan, JB punches Skugs while Kaitlin dodges another.

Then JB kicks, and karate chops a Skug while Kaitlin, and Ryan kick the others.

Then finally Ryan, and JB trick two Skugs into jumping off the rock formation, and Kaitlin throws the last one into the others destroying them.

After that there's a comedy bit where Percy is hiding in a tree from a wild animal that turns out to be Jeb, and Percy refuses to let the Troopers help him because he wants to show them he can handle it himself but then sees a snake in the tree with him.

Then at the lab the Troopers, and the Professor analyze JB's scan of Grimlord's tournament, and JB gets a DNA reading from one of the mutants which the Professor explains means one of Grimlord's mutants is really human.

Then at the virtual dungeon Dark Heart has won the tournament but the other mutants aren't happy because he hasn't fought Spitbot so Dark Heart let's K from Metalder have his rifle, and he, and Spitbot have a challenge where whoever gets the rifle wins.

At first it looks like Spitbot will win with his tentacle arm but Dark Heart jumps at the last second, and gets it before Spitbot so Grimlord orders Dark Heart to destroy Ryan.

The Troopers go through missing persons reports but don't find anything, but then right then and there Ryan, and JB figure out that the only person they know for sure was captured by Grimlord is Ryan's father meaning they may be the mutant.

While Dark Heart appears in the real world waiting to fight Ryan who later has a nightmare where he figures out Dark Heart is his father but is completely under Grimlord's control.

Later at Tao dojo Ryan, and JB are sparing but Ryan keeps sucking at it, and he explains it's because he's not getting much sleep, and when Tao leaves he explains his nightmare to them.

Then the Professor contacts them on JB's communicator so they go to the lab where the Professor informs them that Dark Heart has appeared, and that he's the mutant that tested positive for the DNA sample so Ryan transforms by himself but the Professor advises him to take the Turbo Cycle in case there's a battle.

Dark Heart appears on his own motorcycle, and fires his rifle at Ryan who keeps dodging while Percy has finally come back down from the tree, and sees the battle, and takes pictures of it but Skugs catch him so the Professor tells JB, and Kaitlin, and they rush over to save Percy.

Then Ryan knocks Dark Heart off his motorcycle, and throws a knife into Dark Heart's arm making him lose his rifle which Ryan takes, and aims at Dark Heart who begs Ryan to destroy him for failure but Ryan just leaves.

Meanwhile JB, and Kaitlin look for Percy who are the Skugs throw into a portal which JB, and Kaitlin find, and are later sucked into as well, and it takes them to Grimlord's dungeon where the walls make spikes appear, and close in on JB, Kaitlin, and Percy.

While Grimlord orders Dark Heart be destroyed for failure , and an unnamed insectoid mutant destroys Dark Heart's rifle with acid, and all the other mutants condemn him.

Then Ryan appears at the lab, and asks if the Professor found out which person Dark Heart really is which the Professor hasn't but he does explain what happened.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Defending Dark Heart part 2 written by Doug Sloan, and directed by John Grant Weil.

So we start off where we left off JB, Kaitlin, and Percy are still in the spiked wall trap in Grimlord's dungeon, Dark Heart is going to be destroyed by the other mutants, and Ryan isn't sure what he should do.

But that all becomes a moot point when Ryan decides to save Dark Heart, and Kaitlin kisses Percy which knocks him out so he can't see her, and JB transform which they do, and use their lasers to escape the dungeon.

Then Skugs ambush Ryan but he makes quick work of them while Dark Heart jumps over two mutants, puts Ryan's knife up to Toxoid, and steals a motorcycle.

Then Ryan fights two more Skugs while the other mutants fire on Dark Heart so Ryan transforms to help him, and decides to take Dark Heart to the lab.

Meanwhile JB, and Kaitlin drop Percy off at the Underground Voice Daily, and we get a comedy bit where Percy is in a hurry to get his photos developed but he doesn't see that Woody is inside, and ruins Woody's pictures.

Then at the lab we see Dark Heart laying on one of the lab's machines, and Ryan explains that the Professor has tapped into Dark Heart's memory bank.

Then Ryan, and his friends put on the visors, and they see Ryan's father, and the Professor in physical form creating the VR Troopers.

Then Ryan talks to Dark Heart, and just in case you haven't got it yet we see Tyler Steele inside Dark Heart but he still doesn't remember being Tyler Steele.

Then we go back to the Underground Voice Daily where we get another comedy bit where Woody doesn't believe Percy's story so Percy shows him the pictures he took but it turns out that he was pointing his camera at himself the whole time.

Then after a brief bit at the virtual dungeon where Grimlord orders his mutants to find Dark Heart we go back to the lab where the Professor tells Ryan that if he puts his visor back on they can transfer some of Ryan's childhood memories to Dark Heart to get him to remember being Tyler Steele.

So Ryan puts his visor back on, and touches Dark Heart's head, and some clips of Ryan as a kid play, and Dark Heart mentally turns back into Tyler Steele but informs Ryan that he's still physically a mutant, and until they can get him back to normal he has to stay in virtual reality, and disappears so Ryan transforms to go help him.

Then Ryan fights off various mutants while the Professor tells JB, and Kaitlin to help Ryan so they transform as well, and pilot the Skybase against Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters which they quickly destroy.

Then Renegade who finally has a name pulls out two ray guns, and fires at Dark Heart but Dark Heart gets out of the way, and fires his own ray gun at Renegade.

Then Minotaurbot, and Chrome Dome tell Dark Heart they're on his side but it's a trick so Renegade can fire a laser at Dark Heart but Dark Heart escapes, and Renegade's laser hits them instead.

Then Dark Heart grabs one of Renegade's laser gun, and shoots him in the head then Dark Heart grabs, and throws Renegade then Ryan appears, and the two share a heartfelt father/son moment, and Grimlord once again shames his minions.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Defending Dark Heart part 3 written by Doug Sloan, and directed by John Grant Weil.

So we start off at Tao dojo where Tao himself is practicing karate while JB finds something surprising on his computer.

We then go to the Underground Voice Daily where Ryan, and Kaitlin talk about how JB is looking for a way to turn Ryan's father back to normal.

But Ziktor's Skug spy overhears them, and sneaks off to the archives to transform into his true form, and teleport to Ziktor industries where he explains what's happening to Ziktor who just has the Skug teleport back to the Underground Voice Daily, and transforms into Grimlord, and orders his mutants to keep searching for Dark Heart.

Then we go back to the Underground Voice Daily where we get a comedy bit where Percy shows up with a device he claims is a reality break detector but it just electrocutes him, and blows up a microwave.

Then JB appears on Ryan's communicator, and informs Ryan, and Kaitlin that they figured out how to devirtualize Ryan's father so they both leave.

Then they see some smoke in the distance, and they also see a woman by the side of the road who claims her barn is burning, her horses are trapped, and she doesn't have a phone.

So Ryan, Kaitlin go, and open the barn, but they just see four cowboys with a smoke machine who turn out to be Skugs.

Ryan, and Kaitlin just punch, and kick the Skugs but then one comes after Kaitlin with a branding iron, but she tricks it into branding another Skug instead.

Then Ryan knocks two of the Skugs into each other, and the Skug with the branding iron keeps coming after Kaitlin so Ryan picks up a hay pile, and throws it at the Skug knocking it into the other destroying them.

Then after a comedy bit with Percy wondering around the forest with his reality break detector we then go to the lab where JB explains that they found out that Ryan's father has a special link to Grimlord himself, and the Professor explains that the only way to sever the link is to destroy Grimlord.

While at the virtual dungeon Decimator informs Grimlord that they found Dark Heart then we see Dark Heart in a field spying on Grimlord's other mutants when Air Striker spots him so the other mutants fire on Dark Heart.

Dark Heart tries to run away but there's too many mutants so he destroys them with his laser rifle but Spitbot grabs Dark Heart's rifle with his tentacle but Dark Heart destroys Polarbot.

Then The Magician comes kicks Dark Heart but Dark Heart destroys him, then Slashbot comes after him with his sword but Dark Heart blocks it with his rifle.

Then the unnamed wolf like mutant spits webbing at Dark Heart, and traps him allowing Renegade to shoot Dark Heart who falls down, and when he gets back up Renegade shoots Dark Heart in the head exposing his true robotic face.

Then we see Dark Heart chained up at Grimlord's dungeon where the other mutants want to destroy him right then, and there but Grimlord decides to use Dark Heart as bait to destroy Ryan.

At the lab the Troopers are trying to figure out how to find Grimlord's dungeon but Grimlord himself appears on the lab's monitors to tell Ryan he'll give Ryan a set of coordinates to where his father is but he must go alone otherwise Dark Heart will be destroyed so Ryan transforms by himself, and goes.

Then we go to the forest where Percy almost falls off a cliff, and then the reality break detector starts actually working, and but it unleashes a random Spielban monster.

Then we see Dark Heart being chained up with Minotaurbot, and Chrome Dome guarding him so Ryan quickly fights them off but it turns out that it's a fake Dark Heart who fires at Ryan while Renegade, and some mutant Skugs show up with the real one.

But Dark Heart escapes from the mutant Skugs, and Renegade while Ryan escapes from the fake Dark Heart, then Dark Heart kicks Renegade, and shoots the fake Dark Heart.

Then Renegade fires a laser at Ryan but Dark Heart takes it instead so Ryan destroys Renegade with Lighting Hand, and he, and Dark Heart escape.

So Grimlord orders a full scale aerial assault on the lab.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Defending Dark Heart part 4 written by Doug Sloan, and directed by John Grant Weil.

So we start off where we left off with Ryan carrying Dark Heart in the Turbo Cycle trying to reach the lab but getting no response so Dark Heart tells Ryan he has a secret lab in the mountains so they head over there.

While at the lab JB, Kaitlin, and Jeb are okay but the lab is destroyed, and they can't contact the Professor but JB says they can fix the lab.

While at Ziktor industries Ziktor transforms into Grimlord, and Decimator explains what happened, and Grimlord snarks about how an Ice cream truck with a flat tire can elude his mutants.

Back at the lab JB, and Kaitlin are still fixing everything, and JB explains that he backed up everything on some discs that he taped under her desk at the Underground Voice Daily so she goes, and gets them while at Tyler's secret lab machines are repairing Dark Heart but Air Striker finds the secret lab.

Then at the Underground Voice Daily Woody asks Kaitlin why she hasn't had a story in a week, and she explains she has a personal problem.

Then Percy comes in with the photos he took of the mutant he accidentally summoned but Jeb opens the door to the dark room on him while Kaitlin gets the disks, and tells Woody she has a new story but Percy overhears, and decides to follow her.

While at Tyler's secret lab Dark Heart is repaired but Air Striker opens fire on the secret lab so Ryan, and Dark Heart escape.

Then Air Striker contacts Grimlord who orders a ground search for Ryan, and Dark Heart to make sure they're both destroyed.

Then after a comedy bit where Kaitlin sees Percy following her so Jeb decides to get out of the car, and distract him the lab is fixed, and JB brings the lab, and the Professor back online, and the Professor tells them to see if they can find Ryan.

Ryan, and Dark Heart run into Slice who attacks them with a knife but Ryan destroys him with Lighting Hand.

So Grimlord orders an aerial assault while mutants fire on Ryan, and Dark Heart on the ground but JB , and Kaitlin are able to contact Ryan, and after to waiting for the transformation commands to work again transform to help him by piloting the Skybase, and destroying Air Striker, and Fighterbot.

But Ryan, and Dark Heart are still being fired upon by the ground mutants so they split up while Dark Heart fires lasers at the mutants.

Then Decimator informs Grimlord that Ryan, and Dark Heart are trying to get into the dungeon, but Grimlord decides to set a trap for them.

Then we see Dark Heart sneaking into Grimlord's dungeon through an underground tunnel while Ryan finds a reality break by a cave, and enters that way but Percy spots him, and follows.

Ryan reunites with Dark Heart, and they both invade Grimlord's dungeon but no one is there but then Grimlord appears, and rigs the dungeon to fill up with toxic gas.

Then Grimlord sprouts tentacles which grab, and electrocute Ryan but Dark Heart shoots them with his laser so Grimlord fires his own lasers at both of them.

Then Grimlord disappears so Ryan, and Dark Heart try to escape but reach a dead end, and their attempts to break are futile but they survive the destruction of the dungeon anyway, and escape through one of Grimlord's portals.

While all of this has been happening Percy tries to escape from Grimlord's dungeon, and finds Jeb who helps him escape.

Ryan, and Dark Heart then appear on the surface but Grimlord's mutants are ready, and fire on them so Ryan, and Dark Heart go back to the portal, and Ryan uses the portal's guns to destroy the ground mutants while Dark Heart destroys Air Striker, and Fighterbot with his rifle.

But Decimator appears, and slashes Dark Heart, and tries to do the same to Ryan but Dark Heart blocks Decimator's sword with his rifle but Decimator stabs Dark Heart making Ryan angry enough to beat up Decimator who then leaves.

Ryan transforms back, and finds Dark Heart who's dying from the wound but thanks to kid show logic it just turns him back into Tyler Steele, and Ryan hugs his dad but he disappears, and Grimlord reveals he's still alive, and that he abducted Ryan's father again, but Ryan is just more determined to rescue his father for good.

At Tao dojo Ryan practices the last karate move his father taught him a move he explains he hasn't done since his father disappeared.

Then JB, and Kaitlin show up, they all talk about what Grimlord could be doing to his father like turning him back into Dark Heart or a different mutant or Grimlord making another fake Dark Heart.
(which I'm guessing is Doug Sloan throwing potential story ideas for later episodes at us.)

Then after all this time we finally get our "I miss you dad" moment"

Final Thoughts.

I'll start by saying that I stand by what I said about this being my favorite episode of Season One.

It's not my favorite episode of the show itself that would be Quest for Power but that's in Season Two

I love how we finally learn what happened to Ryan's father.

I liked how it started out like a regular episode until the big revelation that Dark Heart was Ryan's father.

I liked the interaction between Ryan and his father both as David Carr as Tyler Steele, and as Richard Epcar dubbing footage of Top Gunder from Metalder since it was nice to see Ryan being reunited with his father.

I also thought Dark Heart was a cool character with his design, and his laser rifle, I liked how he was almost a Fourth Trooper in a sense.

It also more or less captured everything I liked about VR Troopers, and how it adapted the Metal Hero shows.

The reason is, and I'm going to give spoilers for both Spielban, and Metalder here but long story short in Metalder Dark Heart's counterpart Top Gunder was just a regular MOTD who's life Metalder spared, and later became a good guy himself.

In fact it wasn't all just one great big multi part episode like it was here there was just the episode where Top Gunder was the MOTD then he made various brief appearances in various episodes, and then he showed up in the final story arc, and they just cobbled the parts where Top Finder showed up in.

The thing is too that was actually a very common plot in Metalder in fact Top Gunder wasn't even the first time that happened in Metalder that honor goes to Ben K who became our Hammerbot who I previously talked about in Grimlord's Challenge, and Save the Trees.

Though there was a sub plot later in the show where Metalder's human friend's father was brainwashed into becoming a bad guy but that got turned into Who's King of the Mountain so I'll until then to talk about it.

Also in Spielban Dr. Bio who became our Col Icebot who ironically was also voiced by Richard Epcar
turned out to really be Spielban's father who was brainwashed, and transformed into a bad guy.

I also liked Percy's sub plot of him trying to get pictures of the Troopers, and the mutants.

I also thought a lot of stuff like Grimlord sarcastically thanking his mutants for Ryan, and Dark Heart's bonding moment at the end of part two, and pointing out that his mutants can't seem to catch an Ice cream truck with a flat tire.


Now was it perfect?

Not really but even then a lot of it is nitpicks.

JB, and Kaitlin spend whole episodes untransformed.

The stuff with JB, Kaitlin, and Percy being trapped in Grimlord's dungeon, and the comedy bit with Percy in the tree, the Skug battle in part two and two of the parts where Percy is running through Grimlord's dungeon all feel like they could have been removed without hurting anything.

Other than that definitely a must see.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Ghost Biker written by Mark Litton and directed by Worth Keeter.

So we start off today's "my dad taught me" moment where Ryan talks about how his dad taught him that sometimes you need to trust your imagination if you want to solve a problem.

We then go to a garage where the Troopers, and Woody are listening to Woody's mechanic a biker guy named Harris is telling them the story of the ghost biker (title drop) a phantom motorcyclist who makes people disappear if they look him in the eye, and the Troopers don't believe it but Woody does, and he wants Kaitlin to do a story on it.

Meanwhile at Ziktor industries one of Ziktor's secretaries informs him that a break in the reality barrier is forming at one his construction sites.

But for once it's not Ziktor doing because he ask her to find out what's causing it but he decides to use it anyway so he transforms into Grimlord, and summons Ivar who confirms the reality break.

Icebot suggests using a new weapon he created called the virtual vaporizer to further open the break, and Renegade who now has a cool new winged serpent head volunteers to use it.

Then we go to the Underground Voice Daily where Woody is making nachos, and Kaitlin is getting ready to go to the construction site where everyone keeps seeing the ghost biker, and Woody suggests taking along Ryan and/or JB.

Percy then complains about not getting the good assignments, and Woody explains it's because Percy can't take good pictures.

So we get a comedy bit where Percy tries to take a picture of Woody but the film falls out of his camera, and he accidentally sits on Woody's nachos.

While at the virtual dungeon Grimlord wants Renegade to explain why he thinks he should have the virtual vaporizer, and he says it's because he's the most ruthless, and merciless of Grimlord's mutants.

Grimlord agrees so K from Metalder gives Renegade the virtual vaporizer, and he recruits Chrome Dome, and Minotaurbot to help him.

Kaitlin shows up at Tao dojo while Percy follows her, and Ryan, and JB are helping Tao teach a class, and Ryan still has to teach the class but JB is free so he goes with her.

At the site JB explains that people have been reporting weird events at site, and then their virtualizers start glowing.

Then we see some Metalder footage of Hakko who's supposed to be the ghost biker while Kaitlin, and Percy both take pictures, and then Hakko from Metalder disappears, and Percy faints.

At the virtual dungeon Decimator informs Grimlord that the Troopers have discovered the reality break so at the site a foreman shows up, and transforms into an army of Skugs.

First JB, and Kaitlin just punch, and kick the Skugs then they try throwing, and kicking the Skugs into tire piles.

But the Skugs multiply so JB, and Kaitlin try to get away but the ghost biker appears, and shoots JB, and Kaitlin with a rainbow colored energy beam, and they disappear.

The Skugs are confused but just teleport back to virtual reality, and Percy wakes up, and finds Kaitlin's camera.

While JB, and Kaitlin are in another dimension with the Ghost Biker, and they try to transform, and escape but they can't.

At the Underground Voice Daily Percy shows Woody Kaitlin's pictures, and tries to claim they're his but Ryan shows up wondering what happened to JB, and Kaitlin.

Woody reveals he knows Percy is lying, and tells Ryan they were at the conatruction site but disappeared, and Ryan asks Percy what happened but he doesn't know so Ryan goes to the construction site.

While at the virtual dungeon Grimlord asks Icebot what's going on but he doesn't know so Grimlord just tells Renegade to destroy Ryan.

At the site Ryan calls out for JB, and Kaitlin but can't find them so he uses his communicator but can't get anything so he contacts the Professor but the Professor doesn't know where they are either.

In the other dimension JB figures out that it's a buffer zone between the real world, and virtual reality explaining why they can't use their powers.

Then the ghost biker disappears, and Ryan's virtualizer starts acting weird while Renegade tests out the virtual vaporizer on Air Striker.

Then Chrome Dome, and Minotaurbot find the Ghost Biker, and Renegade tries to use the virtual vaporizer on them but they disappear.

The Professor tells Ryan to protect the ghost biker since they're the only way to find the others so Ryan transforms.

Renegade fires lasers at Ryan but Ryan dodges them so Renegade orders Chrome Dome, and Minotaurbot to go after Ryan.

Back in the other dimension JB, and Kaitlin finally decide to just ask the ghost biker who or what they are, and the ghost biker explains he's a virtual guardian created to protect the weakest part of the barrier.

Then he shows them some Metalder footage of Chrome Dome, and Minotaurbot chasing Ryan, and they want to help but as long as there's danger outside they can't leave.

While in the virtual dungeon Grimlord orders Ivar to launch a full scale attack on the reality barrier so inside the other dimension JB convinces the ghost biker to help them, and he teleports to help Ryan.

Ryan surprises Chrome Dome, and Minotaurbot with a double jump kick so they retaliate with their weapons but Ryan kicks Chrome Dome, and punches Minotaurbot, and they leave.

So Renegade fires lasers at Ryan but the Ghost Biker appears, and knocks the virtual vaporizer out of Renegade's hands with his own lasers, and drives Renegade off.

Renegade then fires more lasers at Ryan so Ryan hides from him, and surprises Renegade with a kick but Renegade keeps blasting at Ryan.

But the Ghost Biker appears, and rams Renegade, and Ryan kicks the winged serpent off his helmet.

Then the ghost biker appears, and takes Ryan to the other dimension, and explains what he is to Ryan, and let's everyone go now that the reality barrier is safe, and Ryan wonders if his father created the ghost biker.

While at the virtual dungeon Renegade begs Grimlord for forgiveness but Grimlord is ashamed of Renegade's failure.

Later at the Underground Voice Daily Kaitlin claims that the ghost biker story was a bust, and we get one last comedy bit with Percy, and an old camera.

Anyway "I miss you dad" the end.

Final Thoughts.

Today's episode was weird.

I liked the idea behind the ghost biker as well as the twist that he was really a good guy, and the implication that he was a creation of Ryan's father.

I'm just not sure I liked how they executed it since the Metalder footage they used was just footage of one of Metalder's human friends Hakko who happened to be a dirt biker, and not only that but it was all stuff that could have been taken out, and just left the stuff with Renegade.

Not only that but there's a later episode Message From Space where they also used footage of Hakko but had him be JB.

I do wonder if this whole thing started out as an attempt to tease a potential extra Trooper or at least ally by adapting another Metal Hero show.

Or an early idea to make the Defending Dark Heart storyline like the Top Gunder arc with parts one, and two being their own two parter in the middle of Season one, then an episode like this, and brief appearances in other episodes, and then have another two parter at the end of Season One that would have been parts three, and four.

It also bugged me that they couldn't find anything for JB, and Kaitlin to do.

I also thought they could have cut back on some of the parts in the other dimension, and just cut through it.

I did like the fight scenes, and I liked Renegade's winged serpent head.

In fact it once again reminded me of how I like how this show takes things from the Metal Hero shows, and changes them.

In this case what happened was in the Metalder episode this was based on this was actually the first appearance of Renegade's Japanese counterpart, and the parts where he just had a regular head where actually from later appearances.

But here they switched it around.

Also I can't really think of anything they took out that I would have left in.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Endangered Species written by Cheryl Saban, and directed by Worth Keeter.

So we start off with today's "my dad taught me" moment where Ryan talks about how his dad taught him that all living things are part of nature's delicate balance.

We see some Metalder footage of this small weird looking white furry gorilla like creature running through a forest.

Then we go to the Underground Voice Daily where Kaitlin meets her old friend Danielle Grayson who's parents run an animal sanctuary that houses the world's last furry wombats (which are supposed to be the weird white furry animals we saw earlier) but developers want to get rid of it.

Then we go to Ziktor industries where we find out that no surprise Ziktor is the one who wants to destroy the animal sanctuary then he transforms into Grimlord, and orders Decimator to destroy the animals at the sanctuary.

Back at the Underground Voice Daily Kaitlin tells Danielle that she, and the others will help, and they agree to meet in an hour, but Percy is hiding behind Kaitlin, and once again tries to steal the story from her.

Then we go to Tao dojo where there's a funny bit where Ryan, and JB try to teach kids about the importance of focus but Ryan gets distracted by Jeb eating the kids' lunches.

Then Kaitlin explains what's going on, and the other Troopers decide to help, and they all go out to the sanctuary.

Then Air Striker, and Fighterbot try to attack the sanctuary from the air while the other mutants try to attack from the ground.

But the wombats are too fast, and we get a funny bit where they have to report it to Grimlord, and one of the mutants actually calls the wombats cute.

The Troopers arrive at the sanctuary, and Kaitlin takes pictures of various animals while Jeb runs off, and we get a brief comedy bit with Percy trying to act like a brave jungle explorer but getting pooped on by a bird.

Then the Troopers meet Danielle's mother who informs them that the furry wombats have escaped their enclosure, and Danielle is looking for them, and the Troopers volunteer to help find Danielle, and the wombats.

Grimlord orders Decimator to deal with the Troopers, and then we see Danielle looking for the wombats while Percy falls into a mud puddle and Danielle runs into three park rangers who turn out to be Skugs, and kidnap Danielle.

Then we see the Troopers in the forest looking for Danielle when they find her scarf on the ground, and the Skugs show up.

First the Skugs kick the Troopers but they get back up, and Kaitlin, and Ryan kick Skugs while JB punches, and flips another.

Then they keep doing that until they get all the Skugs down but they don't touch each other so Ryan does that human steam roller move Kaitlin did in On Brother, and that destroys them.

Then the Troopers hear Air Striker, and run away, and run into Grimlord's mutants lead by a blue mutant covered in tubes carrying a harpoon who's going after the wombats so the Troopers decide to transform, and split up.

Grimlord's mutants trap a wombat in a net, and tranqualize another when it tries to escape, but Ryan appears, and fights off Grimlord's mutants.

Meanwhile Ivar orders Skugs, Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters to attack JB, and Kaitlin while he attacks in his tank so JB takes the fight to virtual reality where Ivar, and the Air Fighters, and Quantum Cruisers fire on them but they find Danielle.

So Kaitlin uses the Battle Cruiser to destroy Ivar's tank while JB uses Techno Bazooka to destroy the Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters.

The blue tube covered mutant goes after Ryan with his harpoon but Ryan dodges, and frees one of the wombats who helps Ryan fight off the mutants.

But the blue mutant orders Air Striker to destroy the wombat which gets the other one angry enough to help Ryan who gets attacked by the blue mutant's harpoon but Ryan jumps on it, and kicks the mutant.

Kaitlin destroys the Skugs with her ray gun, and she, and JB save Danielle while Ryan destroys the blue mutant with Internal Gyro Command.

Then we get a comedy bit where Percy runs into Jeb who leads him back to civilization while Danielle reunites with her mother, and the Troopers appear, and the wombats are safe.

At the virtual dungeon Grimlord shames Ivar for his failure, and at the Underground Voice Daily Kaitlin's story is a success, and the sanctuary is saved, and we get one last comedy bit from Percy.

Final Thoughts.

Today's episode was weird in that it was like a good version of Save the Trees.

I liked Danielle, and her mother, they were cool characters.

I also liked the blue mutant who will later be called Horrorbot.

I was genuinely surprised that they showed an innocent animal being killed in a VR Troopers episode not so much Metalder because in the Metalder episode Dogmatic Change was based on had a dog die after becoming a monster.

My only real nitpick is that they tried to pass off the weird white animals as wombats since they looked more like monkeys.

Other than I liked it.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Field Goal written by J.K. Richards, and directed by Worth Keeter.

So we start off with today's "my dad taught me" moment where Ryan talks about how his dad was his first coach, and that the best way to thank a coach is to become one yourself.

We then go to a middle school field where the football team is finished practicing, and afterwards the coach sees some strange men sneak into a closed off area.

When he follows them he sees them with a strange device, and one of the men just up, and blasts the coach with a ray gun, and turns him into a trading card, and the men turn out to be Skugs, and teleport away.

We then go to the Underground Voice Daily where Kaitlin is getting ready to take pictures of the football team who are up against Percy's old school.
So he, and Kaitlin make a bet to so who's team will win, while the team explains something happened to the coach now identified as Williams but they don't know what.

While at Ziktor industries one of the Skugs transforms back into human form, and explains what happened to Ziktor, and shows him the captured coach Williams.

Then Ziktor himself transforms into Grimlord, and summons Icebot who shows him a football themed mutant named Footbot who's head is a football he can detach, and throw.

At Tao dojo Ryan, and JB are sparing when Kaitlin comes in with the football team, and they explain what's going on, and he agrees to coach the team until they can find coach Williams.

Then the Troopers, and the football team go out to the field but it's closed for re-sodding, and the Troopers talk to the Skug custodians who at first try to talk them away.

But when that doesn't work one of them pulls out the capture beam but Ryan kicks it out of his hands so they transform into their true forms.

Ryan, and JB just kick some Skugs a bunch of times while Kaitlin punches, and kicks a Skug while another sneaks back to get the capture ray, and disappears.

Then finally JB kicks a Skug next to Kaitlin's Skug while Ryan trips them with a piece of wood knocking them into each other, and destroying them.

At Tao dojo we get a montage of the Troopers, and Tao help the team practice using martial arts inspired moves.

While at the virtual dungeon Grimlord orders one of his mutants to destroy Ryan, and Delton volunteers for the mission.

One of the players gives Ryan a yellow letter from someone who claims to know what happened to coach Williams but Ryan must go the Oceanside just outside of town by himself, and when he gets there he spies Zelton showing off to some mutant Skugs so he transforms.

Zelton sends the mutant Skugs after Ryan who just fights them off so Zelton turns his hand into a gun, and fires on Ryan

And at first it seems to work but it turns out Ryan was playing possum, and he Lighting Hands Zelton, and severs Zelton's hand leaving behind a memory cell.

At the lab Ryan gives JB the memory cell, and JB puts it into the lab's scanner to see if it can help them find coach Williams.

While some Skugs in the form of the custodians are finishing work on the device to let Grimlord's mutants through the reality barrier while the coach Williams card does his best impression of The Fly.

At the lab JB finds out that the memory cell is fried but the Professor encourages him to see what he can find, and JB figures out Zelton came in through the football field.

Ryan, and Tao get the team out on to the field while JB, and Kaitlin find the device just as Footbot is trying to get through the reality barrier so they transform.

JB, and Kaitlin go through the machine to virtual reality where Footbot throws his football head at the Troopers so JB summons the Fighter Bike.

But Footbot beats up Kaitlin, and throws her off a cliff but JB saves her while on the football field the team is playing but they aren't doing good.

Then it goes back, and forth between JB, and Kaitlin getting beat up by Footbot until JB throws Footbot's own football head back at him, and finishes him off with Laser Lance when he tries to make another.

And the football team losing until they start doing good until the end of the game when Ryan calls a time out with seconds left in the game while JB, and Kaitlin find the trapped coach Williams, and free him

Coach Williams reminds Ryan of an old game, and that inspires him to think of a winning move, and the team does it, and wins while Grimlord once again swears vengeance on the Troopers.

Then finally we go back to the Underground Voice Daily where Kaitlin takes a picture of the team, and we get one last comedy bit where Percy has to paint the Underground Voice Daily building for losing the bet.

Final Thoughts.

So today we have another weird episode where if yesterday's episode was like a good version of Save the Trees then today's episode is like a mediocre version of Three Strikes.

Most of my problem comes from how aside from helping team cause Williams disappeared the Troopers biggest motivation was beating Percy at the bet when usually there's always something like Ziktor trying to get his hands on something, and the only way to stop him is to win something.

And usually Percy got humiliated for trying to steal Kaitlin's stories where here it's just because he wants his old school to win the way the Troopers do with theirs.

I liked Footbot he was cool, and I liked that his head was a football bomb he could take off, and throw at enemies.

I liked the fight between Ryan, and Zelton but part of me wishes they saved it for a later episode like Race to the Rescue mostly since it just seemed like a way to give Ryan some transformed fighting in this episode.

I don't think anything got skipped though except from some stuff with Helvira that I think we'll see in Rise of the Red Python, the Grand Nazca's robot form destroying tanks, and for some reason a part where the the Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters fired on the heroes so Spielban used the Grand Nazca's cannon formation.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Littlest Trooper written by Margo McCahon, and directed by Worth Keeter.

So we start off with today's "my dad taught me" moment where Ryan thinks about how his dad once told him that awareness should extend beyond the here, and now.

Then we go to a park where two people are playing with their infant child when Skugs appear out of nowhere, and attack them.

Then we go to Tao dojo where Ryan, and JB are sparing while Kaitlin is sparing with Tao but then Ryan notices Jeb brought something, and everyone stops sparing, and they see that it's the infant from earlier but they don't know who left it.

Meanwhile at Ziktor industries we find out Ziktor himself left the baby as distraction to keep them away from finding out about his bomb factory.

Then he transforms into Grimlord, and summons Ivar, and orders him to defend the bomb factory but Icebot interrupts, and says he wants to be the MOTD instead of just making them so Grimlord excepts, and Icebot changes into his monster form, and turns into ooze so he can reappear in reality.

Back at Tao dojo a doctor checks on the baby, and now confirms it as a boy named Boo, and everyone discusses how it's going to be a while too they can get the baby in a foster home, and no one reported a missing baby.

Tao comes in with some baby supplies, and the doctor leaves, and we get a comedy bit where Ryan goes to get more supplies, Kaitlin goes to the Underground Voice Daily to do a story about Boo leaving JB, and Jeb to take care of Boo.

Then we some random Spielban footage where Ivar and some Skugs load missiles onto some Air Fighters in a secret cave base where Boo's parents are being held prisoner in American footage.

Then we go back to Tao dojo where we are treated to JB, and Jeb rapping while JB cleans Boo while at the Underground Voice Daily Kaitlin shows Woody her picture of Boo while Percy is getting ready to do research on his story about secret caveswhile Woody gives everyone spicy snacks.

Meanwhile Ryan comes out of a store carrying supplies, and sees Icebot on a bridge, and some construction workers who are really Skugs.

Ryan punches, and kicks a Skug another tries to kick him but he tricks it into kicking another destroying both, then another Skug comes after him with a sign post.

But Ryan tricks it into hitting another Skug but they both break the sign post, and the first Skug still goes after Ryan with what's left so Ryan punches, and kicks them into each other destroying them.

Back at Tao dojo we get another comedy bit where JB is changing Boo's diaper with a gas mask on then Kaitlin comes over to tell everyone that the paper is running Boo's story, and Ryan explains what happened so he, and the others decide to go to the lab with Boo.

After some more gratuitous Spielban footage of the secret cave base the Troopers, Jeb, and Boo arrive at the lab, and explain everything to the Professor.

Then the Professor tells them he's been getting readings from a mountain, and when the Troopers scan the area they see Percy get kidnapped, and placed with Boo's parents.

So JB, and Kaitlin transform to stop the factory, and save Boo's parents, and Percy while Ryan stays to look after Boo

Icebot appears so Kaitlin jump kicks him but he retaliates with his saber so JB kicks the saber out of his hands, and stabs Icebot with his own sword.

But Icebot turns into his monster form, and makes a swarm of bee like creatures come from an eye on his chest and attack the Troopers, then he wraps them in tentacles but JB frees them.

so Icebot turns into a blob, and attacks the Troopers, and transforms into a flower that blasts then with explosive gas, and Quantum Cruisers also drop bombs on JB, and Kaitlin so Ryan transforms to help them.

Ryan gets into the Skybase, and he and JB destroy the Quantum Cruisers, and Air Fighters, and JB, and Kaitlin sneak into the base, and destroy the Skugs with their ray guns, and rescue Boo's parents, and Percy.

When JB, and Kaitlin escape Ryan destroys the base, and Grimlord shames both Icebot, and Ivar for failure, and swears vengeance on the Troopers.

Then at the Underground Voice Daily we get one last comedy bit where Percy tries to take credit for saving Boo's parents when they all show up to call bullshit on him, and after that they think everyone for helping.

Final Thoughts.

I enjoyed today's episode.

Mostly because of how funny it was since in addition to the usual stuff with Percy we actually get some funny stuff with the Troopers themselves.

My only real problem was that Grimlord had Boo's parents in the same place as his secret bomb factory since that's how they were able to find it in the first place.

I liked Icebot's monster form but I wish they waited till the end of the show to use it since in Spielban it was his only fight.

And the only thing I can think they skipped was some stuff with Hellvira but that seemed more appropriate for Rise of the Red Python.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at The Reality Virus written by Mark Litton, and directed by John Grant Weil.

So we start off with today's "my dad taught me" moment where Ryan talks about how his dad taught him that the one thing universal we take for granted is reality.

We then go to Tao dojo where the Troopers, and Tao are practicing karate, and after Tao leaves the Troopers get a message from the Professor telling them that Ivar, and Icebot are invading reality with Air Fighters, and Quantum Cruisers so they transform, and get in the Skybase.

When the Troopers fight the Air Fighters, and Quantum Cruisers Ivar, and Icebot load something called the reality virus (title drop) into a war head, and fire it at the Skybase but all it really does is cover the Troopers in green slime that disappears anyway, and Grimlord's forces retreat.

At Ziktor industries Ziktor plays with his balls (that doesn't sound right), and transforms into Grimlord, and summons Ivar, and Icebot, and they all explain that it was a trap to infect the Troopers with the reality virus which will now spread, and infect all reality.

Back at Tao dojo the Troopers talk about what happened earlier while some green slime spreads around the plants, and at the virtual dungeon Grimlord, and his mutants remind us of stuff we already know.

Then we go to the Underground Voice Daily where Woody is talking to the reporters when Kaitlin sees some of the green slime in her coffee cup, and on a paper, and Percy thinks it's Sick Building Syndrome but Kaitlin suspects something worse.

Back at the virtual dungeon (or the Air Castle I'm not sure) Ivar, and Icebot talk about how there's something that can destroy the reality virus but they don't say what.

Ryan, JB, and Tao are trying to get the plants away from the green slime, and they notice it's eating at the reality barrier then someone from the power company comes over for a courtesy call but tries to steal a plant, and transforms into an army of Skugs.

Ryan, JB, and Tao fight off the Skugs by punching, and kicking them then Ryan, and JB go into another room to fight two Skugs while Tao fights the or three.

Then it just goes back, and forth between Ryan, and JB in one room, Tao in the other until they all kick the Skugs into each other.

At Ziktor industries one of Ziktor's secretaries informs him of what's going on while in the Virtual Dungeon Crabor is goofing around.

Grimlord appears, and summons the other mutants, and orders Renegade (who now has his old boring head), Minotaurbot, Chrome Dome, and Crabor to defend the virus.

Back at Tao dojo the Troopers get a message from the Professor explaining what's going on, and they look at where the Skugs tried to steal the plants, and see a spot that hasn't been infected with the virus but they don't know which plant it was so they take some branches to the lab.

After an awesome but impractical scene with the Troopers in Kaitlin's car they arrive at the lab, and give the Professor the branches, and he figures out what plant they need but they need more, and Grimlord's mutants are attacking so JB, and Kaitlin transform while Ryan stays to help the Professor.

Air Fighters fire on the Skybase but JB, and Kaitlin destroy them, and some Quantum Cruisers while at the lab the Professor tells Ryan he's programmed the coordinates to find more plants in his Turbo Cycle so he also transforms.

Renegade, Minotaurbot, Chrome Dome, and Crabor go to deal with Ryan so Renegade fires a laser at Ryan but he hides underwater.

But Crabor appears, and whips Ryan with his tentacles, and grabs him but JB fires a laser at Crabor so he retreats.

Then we see Ryan rescue a rabbit before he finds Crabor who goes back to grabbing, and whipping Ryan, and also throws blobs of slime from his hand to trap Ryan so Crabor can electrocute Ryan, and spit more green slime from his tongue.

But Ryan uses Supercharge to free himself then uses Lighting Hand to sever one of Crabor's tentacles but it regenerates into a claw but Ryan uses Lighting Hand on Crabor, and kicks him destroying him.

Then Ryan finds the plant they need then Ryan jumps into the Skybase, and the Professor is able to right then, and there make an antidote, and load it into the missiles.

The Troopers fire missiles at random scenery, and that saves reality, and Grimlord once again swears vengeance on the Troopers.

Back at the Underground Voice Daily Woody shows the Troopers a story about the Troopers saving reality, and we get one last comedy bit with Percy.

Final Thoughts.

Today's episode was another good one.

I liked the idea of a virus that could disintegrate the reality barrier.

Especially since it reminded me of Error in the System because of how the virus worked more like a computer virus than an organic one, and that episode had it where they had to make a computer virus in a factory, and transmit it from their end.

Really my only problems are nitpicks like some of the parts at Virtual Dungeon seeming redundant, or the part with the weird sky when everyone was in Kaitlin's car.

I liked the fight with Crabor but once again I wished the Metalder episode had a new monster instead of just bringing back an old one back but that was more of a problem with Metalder.

And I didn't like how they made Renegade go back to his old boring head after the cool winged serpent one in Ghost Biker but that could have been solved by just making this an earlier episode.

And the only thing I think they skipped from Metalder was stuff that they already used in Defending Dark Heart so there's that.

Well hello there everybody welcome to another Magic Happy VR Troopers Review, and today we are looking at Friends in Need written by J.T. Paul, and directed by John Grant Weil.

So we start off with today's "my dad taught me" moment where Ryan again talks about how his dad taught him that the Earth has limited resources, and that we should take care of it.

We then go to the Underground Voice Daily where the circus is in town, and various circus performers are practicing their acts, and we see some comedy bits like Jeb with a clown, and Woody accidentally volunteering for a knife throwing act.

Then two of the performers a woman in a long white dress named Leeah, and a man in a white toga with a bronze chest plate named Mikolai ask Ryan, and his friends to meet them privately.

The two reveal that they're really scientists from Copernistan who have an important discovery to show Professor Hart.
At Ziktor industries one of Ziktor's secretaries informs him what's going on, and he explains that Leeah, and Mikolai have invented a formula that could double the world's fuel supply.

Then he transforms into Grimlord, and summons Ivar, and asks for a robot to capture Leeah, and Mikolai, and Ivar recommends a bronze bat like mutant called Terminoid.

At Tao dojo Leeah, and Mikolai explain what they created, and that the formula is on microdot on Leeah's necklace, and they knew Ryan's father, and Professor Hart, and think the Professor can help, and Ryan agrees to take them.

On the way to the lab Ryan sees that someone wrecked their motorcycle but when Ryan gets out to help they transform into an army of Skugs so Ryan tells Leeah, Mikolai, and Jeb to leave while he fights the Skugs.

Not much happens other than the Skugs kick Ryan, and he kicks back while Leeah, Mikolai give Jeb the necklace just before Skugs kidnap them, and Ryan throws the last two Skugs into each other, and destroys them.

Grimlord orders the fight be taken to the Battle Grid and we get the rarest of the rare a shortly portal sequence with just one Trooper.

Not much happens since it's pretty much just the Battle Grid segment from No One's Friend but with a weird part in the middle where they do this slow motion thing.

When Ryan returns to reality he informs JB, and Kaitlin about what happened, and at the lab the Professor explains what's going on.

At the Virtual Dungeon Ivar informs Grimlord that they captured Leeah, and Mikolai, and shows them in a cage but explains they don't have the formula so Icebot recommends Horrorbot (who now has a name).

Back at the lab the Troopers are looking for Leeah, Mikolai when Horrobot attacks so the Troopers decide to transform, and split up with JB, and Kaitlin going after Leeah, and Mikolai while Ryan fights Horrorbot.

JB, and Kaitlin go into the Skybase, and find Leeah, and Mikolai so JB jumps down, and fights off Skugs so Terminoid attacks him but JB throws him off so Terminoid sends more Skugs but JB fights them so Air Fighters fire on JB.

Skugs take Leeah, and Mikolai's cage, and put it in a truck so JB chases after it on the Fighter Bike while Quantum Cruisers, Air Fighters, Air Striker, and Fighterbot fire on the Skybase but Kaitlin destroys them.

Horrorbot whips his harpoon around, and whips up a sandstorm that knocks Ryan into a pit of sinking sand, and throws metal poles that make a makeshift cage around Ryan that Horrorbot shoots electricity from his harpoon at to electrocute Ryan.

In the back of the truck Ivar interrogates Leeah, Mikolai while the truck fires at JB but JB fires back, and stops the truck, and breaks in, fights off the mutants, and rescues Leeah, and Mikolai.

Kaitlin jumps down, and helps JB but Terminoid grabs her so JB hits Terminoid, and frees Kaitlin who gets Leeah, and Mikolai to safety.

Ryan breaks out of the pit, grabs a pole, and throws it at Horrorbot knocking him into the pit so Horrorbot pleads for help, and Ryan helps but it turns out to be a trick, and Horrorbot hits Ryan with his harpoon so Ryan uses Lighting Hand to destroy him

Ivar hits JB with his sword so JB fights back with his own sword but Ivar keeps hitting him but JB knocks out Ivar's sword but Terminoid attacks JB, and grabs, and throws JB with his tongue while Ivar attacks JB with his sword, and turns his hand into a gun.

So JB fires his laser at Ivar but Terminoid notes his arm, and throws him, and Ivar, and Terminoid attack JB at the same time so he uses Laser Lance to destroy Terminoid, and knock back Ivar forcing him to retreat, and at the virtual dungeon Grimlord once again shames Ivar for failure, and swears vengeance on the Troopers.

At Tao dojo Leeah, and Mikolai now in regular clothes are leaving for Copernistan, and Kaitlin gives them back the necklace with the information from Professor Hart.

Anyway "I miss you dad" the end.

Final Thoughts.

Today's episode was one of the best episodes I've seen so far.

I liked the story with Leeah, and Mikoli, and their secret formula.

I also liked how they integrated the Spielban footage with the American stuff just by dressing Leeah, and Nikkoli like the Spielban characters.

I liked the fight with Horrrbot who finally has a name my only complaint is more with the Metalder episode it's based on then the scene itself.

I also liked Terminoid he was a cool monster though I do,wonder why he wasn't called Horrorbot unless they originally had each other's names.

I also liked how they had a Metalder episode, a Spielban episode, and a Battle Grid segment, and there was nothing I can think got cut out that I would have left in.

And now only 10 more regular episodes until the Season One finale Rise of the Red Python, and my overall thoughts on Season One, and after that I start Season Two.
