Episode 7 
"The Storm"

Setting: Downtown Terra Venture - early evening. 

Drax is seated at his usual table, at the same outside café, sipping a cup of coffee. 

Drax: There's nothing like a good cup of coffee to end the day. 

The scanning device starts beeping. He puts the coffee down, takes out the device and looks at it. 

Drax: Hmm, it seems as if my project is ready. 

He downs the last of his coffee, gets up and leaves the table. 

Setting: Deep underwater, off the coast of Venture Island. 

The water is dark and murky. Below the surface, on the floor of the harbour, lies a sunken structure. There's damage on the structure, which looks like laser fire damage. 

Setting: Starship Bridge 

Everything is dark as the power is shut off. A computer at the far end of the bridge starts up. A single red light tries to light up but dulls out. It tries again, then dulls out. Suddenly it lights up and stays lit, and the monitor manages to come on. Drax walks up to the computer terminal. 

Drax: Computer, activate hyper beam and send message. 

The words "Sending Message" flicker on the screen. Then the monitor shuts off as the brief power surge fades. Drax turns and walks out of the dark bridge. 

Setting: Space - Mirinoi Orbit 

The fabric of space was blasted apart as the ion storm grew in intensity. Multi-coloured tendrils of energy lashed out at the nothingness of space. 

Setting: Downtown Terra Venture - evening 

The ion-storm lights up the night sky. Leo and Kendrix are laid on a patch of grass. Kendrix has her head rested on his shoulder. 

Leo: We're gonna have to find a replacement for you soon. We can't have a pregnant Pink Ranger. 

Kendrix: What about Karone? She filled in for me before. 

Leo: Good idea. 

The thought of an unborn child, his unborn child in the middle of a battle where anything could happen, unnerved him. And if any of the monsters found out, the multitude of evil plans that could be hatched made him sick to his stomach. 

Leo: When are you going to hand over to her? 

Kendrix: I'll ask her in the morning. 

Setting: Downtown Terra Venture - night 

The Ion-Storm continued to flare above Mirinoi. An energy tendril lashes down from the Ion-Storm and breaks through the atmosphere, striking a nearby information console, which erupts into flame. Another energy tendril strikes a nearby power generator, which sputters then goes dead. Another energy tendril strikes the Comet Café, which explodes in a burst of energy. 

Setting: Downtown Terra Venture - morning 

A small group of people seem to be gathering around an information screen, which is displaying an announcement from High Command. 

Commander Stanton: Due to damage from last night's Ion Storm, the power in Sector 2 will be offline this morning for a duration of 4 hours, and the Comet Café will be closed indefinitely while repairs are conducted. 

At the back of the crowd of people is Leo and Kai, who are watching the broadcast. 

Leo: Thankfully it was the Ion Storm. I thought it was Drax again. 

Kai: Me too. 

Drax walks up behind them. 

Drax: Then you do not know me at all, do you humans? 

He turns and starts to walk away. Leo and Kai follow him. 

Leo: Drax, wait. 

Drax ignores them and continues on his way. 

Kai: We're sorry Drax, it's just that the last time this happened, you caused the damage by your arrival. 

Drax: Instead of ASKING me, you presumed it WAS me, even though it was an ION STORM! 

He turns around and faces them. 

Drax: From now on, stay away from me. I will assist in any monster battles, but that's it. 

With that, he turns and walks away from Leo and Kai. 

Kai: That went well. 

Setting: Somewhere on Mirinoi 

Drax wanders through the jungle. He's still angry after his confrontation with Leo and Kai. 

Drax: Ignorant humans. They think they know everything. THEY KNOW NOTHING! 

He kicks at a rock, sending it tumbling away. 

Drax: Why I had to crash here, I don't know. Why couldn't I crash on KO-35? At least the Kerovians were friendly. 

Setting: Space - Mirinoi Orbit 

After raging all night, the Ion Storm dies down and flickers out and dies. 

Setting: Leo's Quarters 

Leo: ...and he just walked away. 

Kendrix: Can you blame him? 

Kai: We tried to apologise, but he wouldn't listen. 

Damon: Let him cool down, you can always try again tomorrow. 

Setting: Terra Venture Hospital 

Maya is laid on her bed, fast asleep. She is suddenly surrounded by a glowing yellow energy. Her injuries begin to heal, and within a few moments, she is back to normal. The yellow energy field fades away to nothingness.
