When registering here I suggest using a PR or Kamen Rider related name. I have it set to admin approval. And if I see wierd names I may think you are a spammer. If you really want to have a non PR or Kamen Rider name, just email me to let me know what you registered as. My email is tuxedodragon@aol.com.

Relax, this doesn't effect any of you guys. I am talking about people who have not registered yet. Obviously, I know you guys aren't spammers. Unless of course you turn to the dark side :).

But seriously, I've been seeing a lot of bizzarro names being registered. And sometimes its hard to tell which is a bot and which isn't. Obviously I wouldn't know if a new member was a spammer until they posted. But like I said, this doesn't effect any current members at all.

Isn't there, like, some sort of way that you can set up registration to make sure bots can't register?

I've tried almost everything. The problem actually seems to be undercontrol since I switched to admin approval for registrations. Its just hard sometimes to distinguish between a bot or a real member. And I don't want to see anyone lose out. But they can easily contact me if they want their name so bad.

But anyone who is already registered already has their name. So its not an issue for you guys.

I have been told that spammers like this are actually normal for forums. We seem to have it in check. And if anyone really wants to jion here they will find a way too, so I don't think we will drive away and potential members.

Real member here. Not a spammer. Spammers suck. Hope this works out for you.

Seriously. I hope the problem with the spammers gets resolved. If I get one more shoe and/or porn link, I'm going Postal 2 on someone. :D
