View Full Version : Bulk and Skull overrated?

I think they were pretty annoying. In the old episodes the plot would always have to take a break for their antics. It would be especially annoying during a two parter where time was wasted on their B Plot. Their yearly quests didn't make them much better since those got repetitive quickly . Samurai shows how they were overrated by Nostalgia. Which is why "Forever Red" smartly only gave them a cameo.

I do remember always being annoyed when the two parters took time away from the main plot for them. But I do see their value as characters. Especially with their development. Look at how heroic Bulk and Skull were in "Countdown". Samurai just made the mistake of not showing that more mature Bulk.

They were fine. They just overused them in MMPR. After that it wasn't that bad.

I think the series just outgrew them.

Of course, there was plenty of comic relief in Zyuranger they would have been better off adapting. And if future series didn't have it, that means AS shouldn't have it.

Their cameo in Forever Red was so unneeded.

Saban was too cheap to produce more scenes so he cheaped out with Bulk and Skull.

I thought they were very funny and good every main characters. They also got a lot of character development. The copycats never get it right. Which is why Cassidy ane Devin took a different turn during DinoThunder.

I thought they were very funny. I think Power Rangers should always have two comic relief characters like them.

They made those two parters really fun. The actors were comedic geniuses.

Overrated! We need more funny characters like Bulk and Skull.

They were fine in mmpr. But after that they felt out of place.

They were way overexposed but had their momments. Far better than the lame comedic characters we get now. Bulk was handled awfully in Samurai. Overall, I will say it is best they were toned down in later seasons. Too bad we are stuck with lame retreads now.

I was never a big fan of them. They usually took away precious screen time from the Rangers.

I like serious storylines but they were a big part of what made mmpr tick. A little comedy mixed in can still be a good thing. Especially in dramatic multi-parters that could use some levity. Buk and Skull even had dramatic moments of their own. One of my favorite moments of the series is watching them stand up to Astronema in "Countdown".

They were pretty funny. I can't imagine MMPR without them.

I thought they were not funny at all. In fact they were very annoying.Their characters added nothing to the series.

It would have been cool of it turned out they secretly worked with Zordon.

Toei Ranger

I'm surprised Toei didn't tell Saban to tone them down.

why would they? while they may co-own the franchise they really don't care to interfere with the series unless it's a SUPER MEGA disaster like Megaforce was.

It would he a lot cheaper if they must dubbed what Toei gave them.

They get invovled with Super Megaforce? How so and why?
